Fermented Seaweed Fertiliser

Seaweed contains range of essential nutrients including macro and micronutrients, trace elements, vitamins, minerals, plant hormones and amino acids.

The essentials are their mineral content and sugars. Their presence promotes vigorous growth above ground and soil security below ground. Fermented seaweed can be used in combination with other fertilisers agriculturally and works well on indoor plants and gardens promoting growth and resilience.

Our process to produce the fertiliser supports aerobic microbial activity.

Why our Fermented Seaweed Formula

Mineral composition

Our fertiliser contains:

Minerals are essential for plant health and growth. Calcium provides structural stability to cells, phosphorus facilitates energy transfer, magnesium is central to chlorophyll for photosynthesis, and potassium supports various physiological processes and overall plant development.

Sulphur is crucial for protein synthesis and metabolic pathways, while copper serves as an essential cofactor for enzymes. Iron is vital for electron transport in photosynthesis and respiration, manganese is a cofactor for photosynthesis, respiration, and nitrogen cycling enzymes, and zinc aids in protein synthesis and hormone regulation.

Cobalt is necessary for nitrogen-fixing bacteria associated with legumes, while molybdenum enables efficient nitrogen utilization by converting nitrate into ammonia. Although selenium isn’t essential for plants, it can benefit animals that consume selenium-accumulating plants.

These minerals collectively ensure optimal plant growth, development, and metabolic functions. Molybdenum and cobalt are minerals essential for nitrogen fixing crops such as legumes and clover and are found in our fertiliser.

The sugars found in seaweed contributes to soil structure through the clumping of soil. This clumping improves the crumbliness of soil and increases the space in the soil for water movement and aeration leading to increased root-zone-depth, and therefore better crops.

These sugars also feed the beneficial fungal and bacterial communities which contribute to improved nutrient cycling. All these characteristics will improve crop survivability during extreme weather conditions.
